A gauge only helps if someone is looking at it, and in traffic nobody is. A warning light switch takes the watching out of the driver's hands entirely. This water temperature switch triggers a warning light when coolant reaches 235 Degree F, with 3/8 Inch NPT threads.
Part 61-740 is the same switch with 1/2 Inch NPT.
