The birdcage spud is the pickup point that connects the Jacob's Ladder or radius rod to the cage, taking suspension load directly. A worn or bent spud changes geometry and adds slop where precision matters. Replacement spuds let you refresh a cage rather than replacing it.
Hardware is a wear item on a rotating assembly, so periodic renewal is normal.

Ti22's Pro Birdcages are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a 28mm double-row angular contact bearing. The line features standard right and left cages, as well as the new Adjustable Birdcage. The adjustable feature allows for adjustment of the Jacob's Ladder pick-up point to meet changing track conditions, giving racers a competitive edge.
