Momo invented and market-launched the first collapsible steering wheel hub in the early 1970's. These units are able to absorb outstanding impacts thanks to a programmed deformation design process, thus dramatically increasing the safety level in case of collision. Momo offers the largest application based catalog in the industry, offering fitments for hundreds of different vehicles to fit their world-class steering wheels or other 6 bolt steering wheels.

  • This adapter will allow you to mount your 6-bolt MOMO or other 6x70mm pattern steering wheel to the steering column in many Porsche models. The install is bolt-on without any welding using the 40-spline steering column on the car. The collapsable structure of the hub is designed to absorb an impact. This shorter version of the hub is 2" shorter than the long version (see related products.) Kit includes hub, hub cover, 6 countersunk screws for mounting wheel to hub, allen key, grounding plate and grounding wire. Fits the following Porsche models: 1974-88 Porsche 911 (including Carrera, 930, Turbo, etc) 1965-70 Porsche 912 (US market only) 1978-95 Porsche 928

Momo was founded in 1964 by race car driver Gianpiero Moretti. In that year, Moretti commissioned a local craftsman to produce a custom steering wheel for his own racing car. This special steering wheel â?? the first Momo steering wheel in the Companyâ??s history â?? had a superior and thicker grip compared to the normal racing steering wheels available at the time. Drivers from other teams quickly noticed Morettiâ??s new steering wheel and wanted the same for their cars, and so it started to gain fame within the racing community. The new Momo steering wheel also caught the attention of the then Ferrari Formula One driver, John Surtees, who wanted to mount it on his single-seater car. John Surteesâ?? Ferrari, equipped with the Momo racing steering wheel, won the Formula One world title in 1964. And so it was that Gianpiero Moretti converted his his passion into a manufacturing reality, and Momo (for Moretti Monza) was born.
