Since the 60s the Momo steering wheel has made the Italian brand famous all over the world. The design of each Momo steering wheel is the result of accurate ergonomic studies, the scent of fine leather, the harmony of every detail and the choice of the best materials. The MOD 88 takes all of the attributes of the best selling MOD 78, the anatomic grips, comfortable oval rim, hub adaptable, and adds a flat bottom for extra leg clearance. Available in black suede and includes a Momo horn button. A Momo hub is required for installation.

  • The MOMO MOD 88 racing steering wheel takes popular design cues from MOD 78, and incorporates a flat bottom. The MOMO MOD 88 racing steering wheel is a flat bottom design for easier entrance and exiting of racing sedans. MOMO MOD 88 features three anodized spokes with a thick round-section grip covered in premium suede. The wheel is drilled in the standard 6-hole pattern and includes a MOMO horn button. This is the 350mm diameter version with a 43mm dish.

Momo was founded in 1964 by race car driver Gianpiero Moretti. In that year, Moretti commissioned a local craftsman to produce a custom steering wheel for his own racing car. This special steering wheel â?? the first Momo steering wheel in the Companyâ??s history â?? had a superior and thicker grip compared to the normal racing steering wheels available at the time. Drivers from other teams quickly noticed Morettiâ??s new steering wheel and wanted the same for their cars, and so it started to gain fame within the racing community. The new Momo steering wheel also caught the attention of the then Ferrari Formula One driver, John Surtees, who wanted to mount it on his single-seater car. John Surteesâ?? Ferrari, equipped with the Momo racing steering wheel, won the Formula One world title in 1964. And so it was that Gianpiero Moretti converted his his passion into a manufacturing reality, and Momo (for Moretti Monza) was born.
