The Hoffman Auto Racing team has announced that Daron Clayton will be the new driver of the Hoffman Mean Green MOPAR Machine effective immediately at the USAC National Sprint Car event at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana on May 7, 2011.  This means that their current driver Jerry Coons Jr. is out of a ride for the time being.  Coons had won the USAC National Sprint Car Championship with the Hoffman team in 2008 and picked up 13 USAC National wins for the team.  “The Modern Day Cowboy” Daron Clayton comes into the Hoffman ride with an impressive resume of his own.  Clayton has claimed several USAC National Sprint Car wins and recently spent a year with the All-Star Circuit of Champions winning the 2009 Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year Award.
