Q: How do I return my product?

Merchandise may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Please follow the following steps when requesting your return to ensure prompt and processing and credit to your account:

  1. Contact us to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA). Please note that RMA numbers expire 60 days after they are issued.
  2. All merchandise to be returned must be accompanied by an RMA number and in its original packaging. The product must be unused, unaltered and unchanged from its original state. Any merchandise returned that does not meet this criteria may be subjected to an additional handling fee or refused.
  3. You will receive an RMA number via E Mail with shipping instructions and address to send your merchandise.
  4. Pack the parts carefully to avoid any damage during shipping. Always use a sturdy shipping carton to ship the parts back to us (if possible, please use the carton that you received the part in from us). Clearly print the RMA Number on the outside of the shipping carton (not the actual merchandise packaging being returned). Please do not write on, use tape, or affix shipping labels to the product package itself, because we must return it to stock and we can't re-sell a box that has been defaced. If merchandise or packaging is returned unsellable it will be returned to you or a repackaging fee will apply.
  5. We need the invoice number, or better yet, a copy of the original invoice or packing slip showing when the product was purchased. Please include this information with merchandise you are returning. All returns will be assessed a $5 processing fee per RMA number. This fee will be deducted from the amount credited to your credit card or PayPal account, plus any applicable restocking charges, typically 15% of purchase price.
  6. NOTE: The return/refund of any item purchased with Free Shipping Promotions or Flat Rate Shipping Promotions will effectively void the shipping promotion and will be subject to a restock fee of up to equal value of the original order shipping cost. This cost will be deducted from the credit issued for this return.

  7. We recommend that all returns/exchanges should be shipped via UPS or FedEx - no collect shipments will be accepted. Please insure the part for its full value to protect yourself against loss or damage in transit.
  8. Sorry, we can't accept returns on product on Special Order items or opened Computer Software products.
  9. Return Labels. If we determine that the part was shipped in error by our warehouse, we will either issue a UPS Call Tag or make arrangements to refund the return shipping at published UPS ground rates to your credit card. Please retain your shipping receipts for proof of purchase. We are not responsible for shipments lost in transit by UPS or shipped by other methods.
  10. If the merchandise return requires shipment by truck, you must use the carrier we authorize on the RMA number correspondence we send you. No bus shipments will be accepted.
  11. Be sure you keep a record of your UPS tracking number. We can not accept responsibility for undelivered returns. You can track your return shipment with UPS online at http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html.

Q: How do I get flat rate shipping?

Flat Rate Shipping promotions offer you a low flat rate shipping option on orders that exceed the total outlined in the specific promotion. Flat Rate Shipping is available most items that weight under 20 lbs. Exclusions include items over 20 lbs, UPS Oversize Items, Special orders and products that require special handling such as wheels, etc. Eligible and excluded products are clearly marked throughout the promotional period.

Q: How do I get free shipping?

Simply place a Driver Safety Equipment order for $99 or more, and Pit Stop USA will cover the shipping and handling charges. We will ship your order via ground delivery anywhere in the continental USA for FREE!

We also offer Free Shipping on thousands of racing products. These items are marked with a Free Shipping Banner (see below).

*Some exclusions apply: Shipping charges are waived on orders over $99 in the continental United States. Alaska and Hawaii are not included. A qualifying Driver Safety Equipment order total of $99 is required and is based on product subtotal. Taxes and oversize/overweight or truck freight item shipping charges are not included in the qualifying order cost. The customer is responsible for oversize/overweight and truck freight shipping charges that are clearly indicated on each product. Expedited shipping charges, hazardous materials fees are also excluded. Free Shipping offer is subject to adjustment due to returns, cancellations, and exchanges.

Q: How much is my shipping?

Pit Stop USA provides a handy Shipping Calculator located on the checkout page. Simply enter your Zip Code in the designated area and your shipping charges will automatically be calculated for each shipping method offered for the products in your shopping cart. Please note the Shipping Calculator is only a shipping estimate provided by UPS based only on the Zip Code entered. Actual shipping charges may vary based on the exact address entered on the order. For instance, UPS Delivery Area Surcharge applies to each package delivered to certain ZIP Codes within the 48 contiguous states and is calculated into the final shipping cost on applicable orders.

UPS Shipping Charges are calculated based on UPS Ground based on product weight, dimensional size and the destination of the shipment. We have taken every possible step to calculate these shipping charges accurately with information provided from our suppliers to bring you the convenience of knowing your shipping charges when placing your order.

Dimensional weight calculations are used to figure the cost of shipping many UPS Ground packages and all UPS Next Day or UPS 2nd Day Air packages. For example: A package weighing 10 lbs could cost you a 30 lb rate because of its dimensions. Shipping amounts for UPS oversize items will be calculated using this method calculated (Length + 2 x Width + 2 x Height).

UPS Dimensional Weight Calculations are as follows:

  • UPS Oversize Level 1: Packages over 85", under or equal to 108" dimensional size. Billed at 30 lb. minimum.
  • UPS Oversize Level 2: Packages over 108", under or equal to 130" dimensional size. Billed at 70 lb. minimum.
  • UPS Oversize Level 3: Packages over 130", under or equal to 165" dimensional size. Billed at 90 lb. minimum*
  • * $40 Flat Fee over and above the regular weight based freight cost is added to UPS Oversize Level 3.

    Hazardous Materials: Hazardous materials must be shipped by ground at an additional $25 per item.

    Fire Extinguishers: Due to Federal Regulations, fire extinguishers must ship in a separate carton and are not returnable at an additional $12.50 handling charge per item.

    Some of our products are too large to ship UPS and have to be shipped via a motor freight carrier. These products are clearly designated with "MUST SHIP BY TRUCK" throughout our web store and the costs are clearly indicated when you purchase the item.

    Free Shipping Promotions and Flat Rate Shipping Promotions may supersede the aforementioned UPS Shipping Rates for the life of the promotions. UPS Oversize, Truck Freight and special handling shipping rates are typically not included in Free Shipping or Flat Rate Shipping Promotions and will shipped utilizing the standard costs or additional handling fees. We take every possible step to specially mark our our products that will incur these charges throughout our store.

    We offer same day shipping that is typically available on in-stock items for orders received before 3:00 PM EST (12:00 Noon Pacific Time) Monday through Friday. No orders are shipped on Saturdays, Sundays or legal holidays.

    Product returns on non-defective, unused products are available within the first thirty (30) days after the invoice date. Your credit card or PayPal account will be refunded for the full purchase price plus sales tax (if applicable). A $5 processing fee will be applied to all non-defective returns. All non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking charge if a replacement item is not purchased. Before returning any item you must submit a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) request via e-mail for approval. An RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization) number for the merchandise you wish to return will be forwarded to you via your e mail address.

    NOTE: The return/refund of any item purchased with Free Shipping Promotions or Flat Rate Shipping Promotions will effectively void the shipping promotion and will be subject to a restock fee of up to equal value of the original order shipping cost.     All merchandise to be returned must be accompanied by an RMA number and be in its original packaging. The product must be unused, unaltered and unchanged from it's original state. Merchandise must be returned in "new, unused" condition, in original packaging (in re-saleable condition) and with all instructions, manuals, warranty cards and accessories. Any merchandise returned that does not meet this criteria may be subjected to an additional $25 handling fee or refusal.

    A separate RMA number may be required for each part, depending on the warehouse the product was shipped from. The item and RMA number must match for the return to be accepted. Absolutely no returns will be accepted without a valid RMA number. Due to the nature of their use, racing parts are not covered by warranty once they have been used. When it is determined the part is defective (before it is installed), we will either replace it or offer you a refund (depending on warranty from each manufacturer). No refunds will be given on shipping charges. Sorry, we can not accept returns on any opened computer software, fire extinguishers or consumable type products (lubricants, brake fluid, polishes, cleaners, etc.)

    NOTE: Please allow up 4 weeks (next billing cycle) for the processing of return shipments before credit appears on your monthly credit card statement. You should be able to see the credit online within 24-72 hours after it is issued depending on the card issuing bank. PayPal credits appear immediately on your account. You will be notified via e Mail when the credit issued.
