Header tether kits are designed for multi-piece headers, and headers with removable collectors.9 They provide a secondary retaining device that will ensure that the attached collectors remain attached if the primary retaining device (most often a bolt or tab) fails. Header Tether systems allow quick and easy change of collectors and fit a wide range of applications. Kits include stainless steel tethers, T-bolts and mounting hardware. The header tether systems have been accepted by the NHRA for use in all classes regarding multi-piece headers and removable collectors. Header Tabs weld to headers to hold slip-on collectors in place or use to retain primary tubes on adjustable headers. Two tabs are recommended to secure each collector.
