PETALUMA, CA – AUGUST 25, 2012:  The Pit Stop USA Sprint Car Series was back in action Saturday night, enjoying classic Petaluma Speedway track conditions the adobe clay was at its hooked up and tackiest best.

The Pit Stop USA Wingless Sprint Car Series witnessed Klint Simpson stormed to the front at the start with Bret Barney and Bill Cornwell and a Terry Schank Jr. in tow.  After packing pacing the first six circuits Simpson pushed up the racetrack exiting turn two opening the door for a fast closing Schank to displace him for the lead.  Geoff Ensign moved up from quickly from his mid-pack starting spot passing Barney and then Cornwell and set sights on Trevor Schmid. 

Simpson drove an impressive race throughout and held on for an impressive runner-up finish over Schmid, Ensign, and Cornwell.  Billy Aton had a very strong run early in the feature until motor problems ended his night.  This was the first race in several months for Aton, returning to the Pit Stop USA Sprint Car Series after several months at sea to capture fast qualifier honors, then ending up on the wrecker after flipping in his heat race.  Geoff Ensign and Terry Schank Jr. won the evenings heat races.
