Bryan Hulbert - Salina, Oklahoma (June 22, 2012) Jason Johnson was in the right place at the right time as the Law Office of Richard Strunks No. 41 sailed to his fifth Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV triumph of the 2012 season.

Drawing the pole of the night’s thirty lap feature event, Johnson would settle into second entering turn one as Johnny Herrera wheeled his MVT/Maxim No. 45x into the race lead before action was stopped for an accident on lap two after Brady Bacon spun in the middle of turns one and two; collecting the Lucas Oil No. 29 of Brandon Hahn.

Back underway, Johnson would go for the lead on the restart but Herrera would power back to the inside line and begin to pull away with Wayne Johnson and tenth starting Brian Brown closing in.

Utilizing a caution on lap four, the Casey’s General Store No. 21 of Brian Brown would take away the show position while Jason Johnson worked on taking the lead. Going for another slide job on Herrera, the MVT No. 41 would again be unsuccessful as the HAM Construction No. 45x bolted back to the point.

Keeping pace on the highline of the Salina Highbanks, Herrera would soon have to contend with slower traffic, allowing the slide job happy battle for second to close in.

Into the thick of slower traffic Herrera would have to abandon the cushion only a few times as the battle for the runner up spot continued between Johnson and Brown. Coming to the final six laps Herrera was smooth sailing as Johnson and Brown continued their battle with Brown taking the runner up spot for a pair of laps before Johnson raced back by.

With the white flag in sight, the No. 45x slowed suddenly. Pulling off the high groove, Herrera would limp around the bottom of the track with his engine imploding while Jason Johnson raced on to victory. Brian Brown would take second with Johnny Herrera taking third at the line on only four cylinders. Wayne Johnson settled for forth with Tony Bruce Jr. rounding out the top five.

Danny Lasoski would drive from ninth to take sixth with Gary Wright seventh. Brad Loyet was eighth with Zach Chappell charging from twentieth to ninth. Dustin Morgan would post a tenth place finish after starting eighteenth on the field.
