Salem, IN (August 16, 2011) – The third event with the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge for the CRA Super Series will take place this Friday with the Dixie by Draper 125 at Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan. That event will be the first ever CRA Super Series event held at Dixie Motor Speedway. The Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge is a performance award program based upon five selected CRA Super Series point’s events during the 2011 season.

 

Kenny Tweedy, the 1997 CRA Super Series Champion, comes into Friday’s event as the leader in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge points after two events with 186 points earned in those two events. Tweedy got a fourth place finish in the first race of the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge at Columbus Motor Speedway on May 30th. Tweedy followed that up with an eighth place finish at the second event in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge at M-40 Speedway on July 10th.  He was also the EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier at M-40 earning 10 additional bonus points for that event.

 

Current CRA Super Series point’s leader Scott Hantz is currently second in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge, only one point behind Tweedy. The three time series Champion got a third place finish at Columbus and a seventh place finish at M-40 Speedway. Current Rookie of the Year point’s leader Derrick Griffin is in third place in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge, only five points behind Tweedy. Griffin finished seventh at Columbus and fifth at M-40 Speedway. Terry Fisher Jr. is fourth in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge, he is only three points behind Griffin. Nick Gullatta is in fifth place, he is 10 points behind Fisher Jr.

 

The Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in the five events an $800 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires. The second place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge will receive a $500 bonus. The third place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge will receive a $400 bonus. The fourth event in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge will be the September 5th event at Winchester Speedway. The final event will be the October 2nd event at Lucas Oil Raceway.

 

Scott Performance Wire will award the 2011 CRA National Late Model Champion with a set of Scott Performance Wires. Also, the 2011 CRA Super Series Champion and the 2011 CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour Champion will receive a set of Scott Performance Wires. There will be an additional set of Scott Performance Wires that will be given away at the 2011 CRA Awards Banquet by a random draw of the top 15 in final CRA Super Series points.
