This coming weekend April15-16 is a double header for the United Sprint Car Series. The action will kick off April 15th at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia N.C. and then continue the following day at Traveler’s Rest Speedway near Greenville, SC.

We have just learned that Ray Evernham and Erin Crocker will be competing at both events this weekend. The team was on hand last weekend according to Carolina Speedway testing both sprinters to get ready for the event on Friday night.

You might remember a few years back that Erin Crocker became the first and still the only woman ever to win a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-main event. She bested the World of Outlaws regulars in 2004, when she won at Thunderbowl Raceway. There’s no denying the competition she outran on that day, the top 5 were: Crocker, Paul McMahan, Jac Haudenschild, Steve Kinser, Brian Paulus, and Donny Schatz would come home 6th. There’s no denying it, she can drive a sprint car.

Ray Evernham recently purchased East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley, North Carolina, and has spent the off-season making various safety and track improvements to the 3/8 mile dirt track. Weather permitting they both will be on hand at the USCS event at Carolina Speedway.

Gates will open up at 5:30 friday evening with the racing action to kick off at 7. For more information visit the USCS homepage at uscsracing.com.
