Some people would be content with having 13 wins in an entire season. Well with almost 2 months gone in 2011 Larry Shaw Race Cars have already notched more then 20 victories. During the Florida Speedweeks the Larry Shaw open wheel modified chassis’ were almost unbeatable, winning 13 of the 16 events at four different tracks. Jeff Mathews kicked off the impressive performance by winning both events at Lake City Florida on January 28-29.

The domination really took place though at the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. The Larry Shaw race cars would capture the wins at 8 events throughout the nationals. Clint Bowyer would lead the charge with three victories, and would also claim the overall 40th Annual UNOH DIRTCar Nationals title. Ty Dillon would capture the main event by winning the $5,000 to win Gator Championship, and then backing up the victory with another win later in the week. Austin Dillon would also claim 2 victories throughout the events, and Richie Tosh would break into victory lane also at the very fast 1/2 mile speedway.

The modified winning streak would wrap up at Ocala Speedway where Mike Spatola scored the win on Friday night, while Kyle Bronson closed out the show with a win on February 19th. According to Shaw’s website so far they have recorded 23 victories in 2011. Based upon their showing in Florida, there is no reason to think that this performance won’t continue throughout the 2011 season.
