In the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) drivers will now have even more incentive to work their way to the front. Mesilla Valley Transportation, one of the largest locally-owned transportation providers in Western Texas and Southern New Mexico, has signed on as a sponsor of the Hard Charger award for 2011. The driver that passes the most cars during the A main at every USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour event will receive a $100 bonus for being the hard charger. But it doesn’t stop there..

There will also be a season championship bonus, drivers will rack up points throughout the season by passing as many cars as possible. For every position gained from their starting spot, drivers will gain one point. At season’s end the top two drivers who have gained the most points will receive a cash bonus of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.

To be eligible, the driver must possess a USMTS license and must display the approved Mesilla Valley Transportation decal in the required location on the racecar. The 2011 season kicks off February 17, 18, and 19 in Baytown, Texas. Make sure you head out and check out some great Modified racing action. You can check out the entire USMTS schedule here.
