PETALUMA, CA – July 26 - Hot Petaluma temperatures led to a smooth sealed surface on Five Corners Automotive and Western Auto Body Night at Petaluma Speedway Saturday Night.

Sacramento’s Billy Butler blazed a rapid lap of 12.456 as he collected fast time honors in the Pit Stop USA Winged 360 Division. Alissa Geving and Zack Lynskey were victorious in the pair of heat races.

Bradley Terrell got the better of Wayne Katen on the initial start of the 25-lap feature. Lynskey vaulted past Butler and Katen in the first two circuits from his fourth starting positon and set sight on Terrell.

Terrell in his familiar family owned #43 dueled with Lynskey on laps six and seven before Lynskey, working his favored high line, cleared the defending track champion on lap eight. Sixth starting Geving also got the better of Terrell on lap 11. On the move was current point leader Herman Klein as he entered the top five on lap 16.

Lap 19 saw Jake Haulot loop his #7 for a quick caution. This set the stage for the final segment to the checkers. Many cars were veering onto the apron looking to cool their tires and on the restart it was all Lynskey could do to fend off a rapidly closing Geving.

On the final lap Geving dove very low in an effort to deliver the winning slide job. However it was young lion Lynskey easing his orange #07n into victory lane for his first winged sprint car triumph over Geving, Klein, Terrell, and Butler.

Petaluma Speedway returns to action Saturday Night, August 9th with the third annual Johnny Soares Classic featuring the Joe Hunt Wingless Sprints vs Pit Stop USA Spec Sprints in a 50-lap feature. Also competing in 50-lapper will be the Bay Cities Racing Association Midgets along with the BCRA Midget Lites..
