Before welding any tabs and brackets permanently, tack weld them in place first to check the final alignment. It's much easier to realign a tab or bracket with a temporary tack weld.Q&A:Q: Why does Competition Engineering offer so many different sizes and styles of tabs and brackets?
A: Having a wide variety of tabs and brackets is advantageous when building a race car. For example, a great deal of unnecessary weight can be shed by replacing those bulky factory mounting brackets with smaller and lighter hardware. In addition, a range of brackets and tabs allows you to mount components not normally found on a passenger car such as rack and pinion steering, motor plates and relocating the master cylinder.
