Q: How can I improve weight transfer without adding any unnecessary weight to the car?
A: Moving 45 to 60 pounds of battery weight to the rear corner, passenger side of the car will help counteract the driver's weight and allows the car to launch more evenly. However, before moving the battery check your rulebook for proper installation guidelines.
In general, when a car has a rear firewall separating the trunk from the passenger area, a sturdy mounting tray with 3/8" holddown rods is sufficient. To finish the installation professionally, always use high quality battery cables and terminal connections.
If your car is not equipped with a rear firewall, such as hatchbacks, a sealed and externally-vented battery box is required.Product Description: Battery Box, Weight Box, 12-3/8 x 9-3/4 x 10 in, Hardware Included, 1/8 in Thick, Steel, Cadmium, Kit
